I grew up across the street from Kim and spent many hours at the Hein household.  We went separate ways in high school and I lost touch with Kim until our 50th reunion.  We reconnected and had regular lunches together.  Kim had several physical challenges but had a great attitude about accepting his challenges.  He was curious to hear about classmates and their lives.  Kim was admitted to Advent Health Hospital at Shawnee Mission a couple of weeks ago and I visited him.  I got to meet his daughter Kelley who is darling.  Kim passed away at the hospital.  Kim attended our quarterly meeting at Corner Cocktail in July and was looking forward to our next meeting in October.  Rest in peace my friend.

I had planned to attend the July gathering, but a family event conflicted with it, so I missed seeing Kim at that gathering. He helped make sure I survived our Junior year retreat! Thank you & R. I. P, Kim.

Very sorry to hear about Kim's passing.  He was a well respected member of the Brotherhood of Men named Kim.  We were never close friends, but it takes a special person of the male gender to get through life with the name Kim.  Respect!  RIP brother Kim Hein.
